2. Mike to the
rescue...
Everyone was worried. Nick's mother was going from animal to animal, asking if anyone saw him, when the cow found her. The cow joined the search. The eagle was flying around the neighborhood. The giraffes were looking in the trees. Even the otters were looking in the water. No Nick. It was almost five hours that the cub was missing. And then a goat ran over to Nick's mom yelling, "l've got news!" The goal said that they found Nick. Unfortunately, he was up a tree and couldn't come down. Nick's mom said she would go up and bring him down. When they went over to the tree where they found Nick the cow said, "He's on a thin branch, you can't go up to get him!" Nick's mom agreed. The cow assured Nick's mom everything would be OK. The cow called his friend Mike. Mike came to the cow's school on career day. Mike is a firefighter who works on a hook and ladder! A few minutes later the truck arrived and Mike brought Nike down. Nick's mom was very happy and thanked Mike and the cow. "I guess it's time to take the bus home," said the cow. Mike said, "Come on cow, we'll take you home." The fire truck pulled up by the cow's house and the cow went into his house. The cow's mom asked, "How was your day?" The cow answered by saying, "Well, it was like this...." |
