5. Going into the
attic...
And Aunt Polly's response was even a bigger shock. She walked up to her brother, stared at him, and said, "It's about time you stood up for your family. I'm proud of you!" The cow wanted Aunt Polly to stay. Everyone wanted her to stay. The cow said, "The answer is simple. Aunt Polly can buy the house next door!" Everyone thought it was a great idea. The house was for sale. Aunt Polly moved in a few days later. The cow was happy to help her move in...and explore the house. Everything went well until they got to the attic. Aunt Polly looked in and yelled, "Call your dad now!" She wouldn't let the cow see the inside. The cow wondered what was inside as he went to get his dad. When the cow's dad arrived Aunt Polly was still yelling and shaking. "I'm leaving right now!" She screamed. The cow's dad ran over and asked what was wrong. "Look at that!" Everyone looked in. There it was. Traps! Traps used to catch animals. "Your former neighbor was a beast!" The cow's dad said, "It's not what you think, Polly." He explained that his former neighbor, Ranger Jim, collected the traps when he worked in the big park. He said that some bad people would leave them in the park. He used to tell stories about people who ended up trapping themselves. They got rid of the traps and Aunt Polly moved in. She was happy and the cow's family was happy. |
